Blooming Minds: The Impact of Spring on Mental Health

The transition from winter to spring can result in numerous alterations and changes across many dimensions. One of these dimensions could be mental health, as the way we feel, talk, and react to our surroundings could be different.

Many individuals may feel depressed, anxious, or irritable, as well as change their eating and sleeping habits and struggle to concentrate. All of this might be impacted by the change in light because the longer days of springtime sunlight have an impact on our circadian rhythms. Our sleep, energy level, and mood are all affected by this. Our minds and bodies should adapt to this new routine because we will spend more time outside and engage in different activities.

However, there are several ways that we all could overcome any stressful moment of the day. Here are some examples:

  • Get enough sleep every night
  • Self-reflect and prioritize self-care
  • Go outside and enjoy activities that are important to you.
  • Meditate or practice deep breathing exercises
  • Keep a journal in which you can write your thoughts and make a list of things you wish to focus on in the future.
  • Build your routine (don’t forget to incorporate physical exercises, meditation, or yoga)
