Should you really travel right now?

It has been a long time since we’ve been able to travel freely.  For frequent travelers and travel lovers, it seems like it has been eons since we’ve set foot in an exciting new destination.

A number of travel companies are reopening this summer. Enticing low-cost offers from airlines, coupled with great getaway deals like those at Ariana Travel, make a quick getaway almost irresistible.  But… should you travel right now?

Is it really safe with the coronavirus still lurking at every turn?

Travel companies are taking great pains to ensure guests have the safest experience possible. Hotels and resorts are constantly sanitizing, cleaning, and scouring every surface that a guest might touch. Major attractions, like Disney World near Orlando and Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, are aggressively enforcing mask mandates, social distancing, and numerous other measures designed to keep their guests safe.

In many of these cases, the measures they’re taking to ensure safety mitigate the risk enough that most travelers can feel reasonably safe when visiting.

But… how to get there?

At first glance, the idea of sitting shoulder to shoulder with a stranger for hours on end in an airplane where air is recirculated throughout the cabin seems like a veritable breeding ground for disease. However, airlines also have a number of safety precautions in place. All passengers and crew on all major airlines must wear masks at all times, and many airlines are leaving the dreaded middle seat empty to reduce the possibility that the virus could spread.

Even better, modern airliners are equipped with medical-grade cabin filtration systems that meticulously sanitize air as it passes through various filters before circulating back throughout the plane. Though it seems almost counterintuitive, these measures make flying as safe or safer than other mass transportation options like busses or trains.

Of course, you can always get the most social distancing by driving to your destination. Stopping only for bathroom breaks, drive-through meals and as few fuel stops as possible, you can keep your travel exposure to around the same levels as you might get just venturing out to your local grocery store.

Other attractive options exist.

Of course, travel in the summer of 2020 isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s not entirely safe. If you’re not willing to take the risks (as many of us aren’t), how can you still scratch your travel itch?

Some travel companies, like Ariana Travel, offer travel certificates that let you lock in today’s great travel discounts but not actually go for up to 12 months.  With a travel certificate, you can start planning your travel now, and enjoy the excitement, while being sure you don’t actually expose yourself until it’s much safer to do so.

Even better, Ariana Travel offers tools you can use to reserve great rates on rental cars, special events, and other travel-related necessities for your trip, even if it’s a year away.  You can learn more at Ariana-Travel.com
